- OWNERS REMARKS: Pogeyan was purchased in 2011 and transformed from a coastal cruising yacht to an ocean passage maker in the same year. She has been sailed predominately in very remote locations. Her list of spares and equipment reflect the need to be self sufficient in locals far from the average sailor. She is a proven passage maker with a safe and comfortable motion at sea. No expense has been spared in her upgrades and upkeep. She continues to sail the Pacific Ocean.
- Built: In Safety Flotation
- UPDATE: See new exterior photos. Add to the above description that this boat is also a hurricane survivor. Yep we were visited in Charleston by Matthew but this boat came through without a hitch even though tied up on an outer slip. In one photo you can see the damage incurred by the next boat. But the Tartan showed no stress.
- We purchased BG in January of 2013 and began refitting her shortly thereafter. Aside from minor/major cosmetics, in late 2013 we painted the hull, re: decked her inside and out, added new Yanmar 54 HP engines (4JH5E/SD60), Doyle sails and cradle, Cruiseair ACs(3), Outback inverter, over 800 watts of thin film solar panels, underwater lighting, and numerous smaller enhancements like Sirius radio and weather.. In October 2015 we added a Spectra Ventura 200T watermaker and converted her electric heads to fresh water flush. Engine hours as of September 2016 are 950 each, with new clutch kits on both sail drives. She might best be described as a 2014 boat with a 2006 hull. She is cruise ready and better than new.
- Dimensions: 12.75 x 3.72 x 1.68 Meters
- She is Solar self: sufficient. Loaded with offshore gear, she has along with a B&G network, a SSB HF radio with Pactor III modem and a Sat phone with data interface.
- Befitting a family cruiser, and unlike many chatter designed cats, there is ample room for storage on Tribe: huge spaces below the aft cabins, the starboard hull has plenty of open shelving (great for books) as well as storage lockers (great for tools) and a wet locker. Forward cabins all have storage space below the beds as well as under the cabin seats and 4 large open storage areas next to each bed.
