  • Description: Our beautiful Picaroon is now for sale. We've lived the dream for a couple of years but now it's time for another Captain and crew to enjoy sailing in the Caribbean. We are currently in Salinas, Puerto Rico, having sailed around Hispaniola, to Cuba and Jamaica and then back to the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico, an ideal starting point for your sailing adventure. Picaroon is a stable boat, with surprising speed. Her steel rigging was replaced with Dynex Ducs (Dyneema) in 2011 and it is still like new and takes a lot of weight off the topside. Designed by William Garden, she is a real head turner when coming into port and the interior is full of wood and stowage space. Coming down the companionway, the galley is to starboard with a two burner stove, with oven. To port there is a galley table that is also used as a chart table, with two bench seats. A step down takes you into a comfortable salon with berths on both sides, the starboard berth pulls out to a wider berth. Just ahead to port is the heads, with a shower cubicle and to starboard the main cabin with a berth that pulls out to a full double. The forepeak has been converted from a single berth cabin to a sail locker and workshop which is very handy for storing tools etc. On deck, the cockpit is the star of the show with a rounded rear seat and lots of space for entertaining and relaxing. Picaroon is a stable, reliable sailboat and a comfortable liveaboard, ideal for a couple but comfortable for four people. Hauled and bottom painted in January 2015, new cutlass bearing and propeller fitted January, 2015.
