Beneteau Oceanis 40 description- Re-powered with Kabota Universal M25: XP diesel in in 1987. On land for full inspection. Bottom redone with 12 coats 3 years ago. Need a small tear in Jib sail repair and new Jib lines and a halyard. Also need mast lights rewired. Comes with 6 self inflating life jackets, new handheld VHF 160. Oven removed. New switch panel. Great first boat very forgiving.

- A lot of 22-foot boats are built to do too much. Daysailing, mini-cruisers, semi-racing boats: they wind up doing nothing really well. The Ranger 22, by contrast, is a highly specialized machine. She is, of course, a handsome, comfortable, and beautifully finished boat. But the most important thing about her is the way she sails.
- "Gentle Winds" : Water Ballast in excellent condition, wanting an offer on this sailboat. I haven't had enough time to sail and needing to sell. - Comfortable accommodations for six people. The port settee features a small convertible table with storage underneath. Opposite is an L: shapped settee that converts to a double. There is a large bulkhead mount table with storage behind. The navigation station is to starboard as is the electrical panels. Across from the nav station is the guest head with shower stall and a large doube berth and hanging locker. Ample storage throughout. The master stateroom is forward to starboard with a pullman type arrangement. The head is to starboard with a separate shower stall.

Beneteau Oceanis 40 - : equipped galley, and the spacious cockpit, ideal for relaxing and entertaining. The standing rigging, upgraded to Dynex Dux, has reduced the weight aloft, added to her overall appearance, and although unusual on vessels like Picaroon, it has improved her performance and is still in great condition. On deck, the teak has been stripped and left to go silver which looks beautiful, and easier to maintain than having to varnish every season. The teak decks need a little TLC in places but it does not leak, and the magnificent Douglas pine masts are like new. The monitor wind vane steering is a great asset and works perfectly, giving the crew time to relax on extended passages. Unfortunately, due to health reasons, we are reluctantly having to curtail our adventures in the Caribbean. Picaroon has been well maintained whilst we have been cruising and she is shipshape and ready to sail tomorrow.
