- We sailed this boat on Lake Tahoe for three summers (2008: 2010), then had the boat professionally wrapped and stored it on the trailer for 5 years after our daughter was born. - Description: We are pretty compulsive about keeping our boats clean and “nice”; we have never worn our shoes in the cabin, for example. We also sweep out the cockpit and rinse the deck every time we go out for a few days. The mainsail is still crispy/crinkly; we normally stored it folded, in the original Catalina bag each winter. This boat is in good – but not flawlessly perfect – condition.
- Equipment: 5. I moved the battery from near the transom (where access was nearly impossible to access) to under the bench in the cabin; this was a great improvement in terms of convenience. However, I wasn't able to cleanly hide all of the wiring, so about 2 feet of heavy-duty wiring is obviously visible in the galley. This could probably be improved by replacing the battery-outboard wire with longer runs and employing some sort of conduit.
Catalina 250 equipment- NOTE: No, I do NOT have a trailer just climb aboard at slip and go.
- “Extras”: lifejackets, toolkit including Loos tension gauge, mooring lines, mooring hook, fenders, anchor, SnapIt drink holders, etc.
- LOA: 42 ft 0 in
- LWL: 33 ft 0 in
- Log: speedometer
- 6. The headroom in the cabin is only about 5': 5", but this can be increased to about 7' in the galley area by raising the "pop top" and using the associated canvas enclosure. This hasn't been a problem for us, since we don't normally walk around in the cabin, but if you're expecting to freely walk/stand in the cabin, this might not be the boat for you.
- 2 heads : 1 full head with shower
