  • Description: There are beautiful yachts around, but few have the charm and the potential of the classic schooner yacht Ceceline. She is only 40’ on deck, but she sports the lines of one of the large classic racing schooners that adorned the seas in the early twentieth century and made seamen dream of far away worlds. Further to her extraordinarily beautiful lines, she is unique in that she is one of the last boats built of kauri wood in New Zealand. This wood is said to stand for a strong and maintenance-free hull. Also her designer is the finest any owner can wish, Charles Nicholson. He drew her lines in 1931, although the boat was started to be built some years later, in 1946, and was finished in 1953. She was originally rigged as a racing cutter with a large sail area, then transformed into a more manageable schooner rig. If you want to own a handy classic sailing yacht, easy to maintain and distinctive and fast on a racecourse, Ceceline is the boat for you. Please have a look at her specs to find out more about this special yacht.

  • : berth there is a large head (bathroom) in the forepeak with tons of storage space. The main cabin has a single and double birth which converts into a dinette that comfortably seats six. The galley has lots of space for preparing food and taking care of the dishes and unlike many other boats in this size and vintage is well away from the companionway so no one is stepping in it as they enter the boat. The chart table opposite the galley provides more than enough space to chart your course or update the ship’s log. There are two quarter berths on either side with lights nearby to make easy bedtime reading. One of the best features of the 29C is the sliding bulkheads on either side forward of the chart table and galley. When they are down they provide an open cabin with an unobstructed view, with the bulkheads slid upwards they provide privacy between the forward and aft berths. There are three opening portlights located over the galley, chart table and toilet and along with the foredeck hatch and the companionway they let the breeze move through the boat with ease. When the bugs come out every hatch has a screen providing relief. On deck there is plenty of room to access the foredeck when taking the sails out of the bags or for laying on a towel and getting a suntan at anchor. The anchor locker is easy to access and with a built in bow roller on the end of the bow sprit making it simple to set the anchor and relax. Lounging in the cockpit is comfortable with the cushions set up while piloting is a joy with the raised seat and wheel steering. Whether you are looking for a day sailor or cruiser Tokay is a wonderful boat for a couple or small family and with her full keel, cutter rig and diesel engine she is comfortable and forgiving in a stiff breeze.

  • I have had a lot of inquiries about the interior of the sailboat: it is a bare hull. Freshly painted three coats of zinc primer, three more coats of epoxy coal tar on top of that. Due to the boat size it does not need framing there is 1 inch stingers to which 2 x 2 treated wood is screwed in, above the waterline, ready to be spray foamed. There are four through hulls that need to be welded shut, at lest that was my plan. or you could replace with sea cocks.
