- Description: Smile and Wave is a Beneteau First 40. It was designed in 2008 by Farr Yacht Design and built in France in 2010 in the no-longer-available core-hull technology. This is the regatta edition with a tall triple spreader aluminum rig, rod rigging. PBO Backstay and deep draft t-bulb keel. It rates .953 under CSA and 1.103 under IRC. The IRC rating should improve quite a bit if the boat gets professionally measured.
