- Description: "Sea Sonata" has only had 2 owners and she has sailed only in fresh water from Lake Erie to the North Channel of Lake Huron. The previous owner a Naval Academy Alumni sailed single-handed without an auxiliary engine extensively in the Great lakes. The Yanmar 40 hp diesel was installed when the current owner purchased "Sea Sonata" and has low hours. The 17' long cabin and deckhouse with 7' headroom lives large and easily sleeps a family of 6 and can be used as a very comfortable live aboard for two. The 200 gallon water and 65 gallon diesel tanks are situated low in the bilge and add to stability and allow for long range cruising. The hull to deck is Girder-Bonded permanently (not caulked and bolted) and should never leak and is immensely strong. The keel has cast lead ballast for maximum stability and optimum sailing. This vessel has a solid stainless steel rudder post with reinforced fiberglass rudder. Pedestal steering with emergency tiller steering is readily available if ever needed. Engine, batteries and water pressure pump are all located directly under the hatches in the deckhouse floor with easy access.
