Derector Sparkman 36 description- 1975 Chrysler 22 sailboat designed by Halsey Herreshoff. This is the more popular swing keel version allowing it to be towed. This version also has the pop: top allowing you to stand straight up in the cabin. Keel winch crank works well, new rudder head and bearings have been purchased and are ready for install, new rudder shaft has been installed, and half of the cabin cushions reupholstered with more fabric ready to finish. Boat sits on an included double axel trailer and includes a main, jib, and racing genoa sails. Boat is being sold AS IS and will make a great project for someone wanting a solid blue water cruiser.
- Reason for selling: When I was younger my dad started a sailing club for kids aged 9: 15. It proved to be a highlight in my adolescent years. This boat was donated to the club which sold it to me. The idea was for me to be a skipper in the club using this boat for teaching kids about sailing. The problem is that as a full time teacher and professional musician I have not been able to dedicate the time needed to get it sailing. I'm sad to see it go. I like the layout and stability. But...with my oldest daughter having just turned 9 and the club season upon me I need to find something that is ready for the water this spring/summer. Feel free to call or text with questions.

- I love this boat. It has beautiful lines and is very sturdy and safe. I've spent far more than $6,375 on it with new life: lines, all new bronze through hull fittings, etc. It is "not" in excellent condition, but not a total project boat. You can sail it and it starts right up. The Yanmar 2GM is a great engine and was new about 10 years ago I'm told. It doesn't look new now but does start right up every time.

- Extensively re-fit within the last several years, the U: shaped galley is aft and to starboard with a lots of counter space, sink, a 12 cubic foot top loading refrigerator, a two burner LPG stove with oven fueled by a 10 lb aluminum propane tank, with hot and cold pressurized water. There is an abundance of storage with cabinets over and under and a large pantry opposite the galley. Two 70 gallon water tanks are filled on deck. The eleven gallon hot water tank is heated via engine or shore power. The remote external cold water/shower hose connection is located aft.
