- Description: This is a 1976 Cheoy Lee Clipper 33, a Very classic vessel, a real head turner for sure. She's a project boat, but we've already done a lot of nice work. I sailed her down to the keys and back a couple years ago, and ended up getting a larger boat, and just haven't had the time to revisit my old project. I built a beautiful bowsprit out of Sitka spruce, solid teak professionally joined cockpit grate, renovated solid teak cabin sides.I repowered with a newly rebuilt yanmar 3gm30f before our 6 month trip to the Florida key, just before getting back in the Chesapeake it started making a strange sound so I shut it down and sails home. A mechanic mentioned a wrist pin, but I didn't have time to solve to mystery. Spars have been renovated and just need varnish. Beautifully renovated teak cockpit with no fasteners to leak. I upgraded the 6 non opening ports to beautiful bronze opening port holes. Needs some trim wood work to wrap up exterior, 90% complete. I have done so much beautiful wood working on this boat, all you have to do is put somethings back together and you've got a timeless classic for as cheep as it comes. Interior has been dismantled , stripped, and 5 coats of varnish, finished, just needs put back together. The rest is stripped and close to ready for finish. Needs some one that has the time and skill to spruce her up again around the edges and finish off the aspects that need attention. I'm willing to let her go cheep to some one who I feel has what it takes, as I've put lots and lots of time and money into the old girl. I don't plan to get my money back, but I do want to see her go to a good home. I bought the boat for $4200, and have dumped more than 20k into her, just want around 5k and a good home.
