- This pre: owned boat is less than 5 years old and has only been sailed a handful of times. The original Fastacraft foils are still considered one of the most competitive in the Moth class. The sails are in perfect condition. The boat also has brand new trampolines that have never been used. All the hardware and lines are also in great condition. Overall the boat is very clean and well maintained and everything has been mostly stored inside. This is a great deal on a great boat!
- Garth and John Ilett in Perth, Australia developed a now famous two: hydrofoil system for the moth with active flap control for the main foil via a surface sensor. The hydrofoil generates maximum lift when the boat is in the water and the flap automatically reduces the lift as the boat rises out of the water.
- Fastacraft’s Prowler design features a carbon: fiber hull, inverted “T” foils on the centerboard and rudder and can reach speeds of over 27 knots. The boat can become foilborne in as little as six knots of breeze with an experienced sailor at the helm.
- This boat is ready to go sailing as: is but you’d probably want to at least get a new cleat for the boom (you can just tie the rope off but I hope you’d want to show your new boat some love).
- NB: boat sustained light damage in Hurricane Sandy which is not visible in the first picture (The second picture shows a close of the light damage from hitting against the dock). Also, the interior needs work.
- Here’s the list of boats less than appealing traits: It has beach rash, there was a spot of damage to the hull that was repaired before I bought it, the ropes are old, the plexiglass windows are cracked, the tiller needs to be revarnished (probably already revarnished by the time you read this), the cabin door planks work but should be replaced, the mast light’s plug is missing, the wind vein’s tail needs to be glued back on, no lid for the ice box and the cleat on the boom for the rope that keeps the main sail taught is broken.
- I bought this for a hobby. Unfortunately, I don't have time for it and my hubby-to: be isn't interested in sailing. Everything is in great shape. Just needs to be cleaned off from sitting idle. The mesh has no holes, the sail is in great shape and the hulls are also in great shape.
- Google the boat for more photos. Co: ownership and/or business charter arrangement also considered, boat is fully licensed for charters with website and branding.
- V: berth forward with lots of storage on shelves, and under the berth. Custom made 10'/25 cm latex mattresses.
