Herreshoff 12.5 description

  • Nickel: sized damage to the hull below the water line. Sails in good condition. Spinnaker rig and sail. Call with questions.
  • The Katherine Ann is a remarkably clean, low hours, well: appointed and equipped tall rig Catalina 36 Mark II. She has Catalina Yachts’ standard equipment package along with a number of owner selected upgrades. A detailing of upgrades is included in the Equipment section of this listing.
  • 1924 Herreshoff 12.5 2012 rebuild : with new frames, keelson, floor timbers, keel bolts, coamings & trim, rudder and transom. Also the hull was refastened and has new canvas on the decks. In 2014 new sails and mooring cover were added. The kids have grown and are now too busy to use the boat enough to keep it.

  • A fiberglass Custom 44 centre cockpit ketch rigged, mono: hull professionally built by Joseph L. Correia in Vancouver, Canada and is the 17th hull from the moulds. The Custom 44 was based on the Bruce Roberts Offshore 44 design. It was then outfitted by shipwrights from the luxury boat building industry in Vancouver area.
  • Vital Statistics: L.O.A. 40’, L.O.D. 35’6”, D.W.L. 26’8”, Beam 11’0”, Draft 5’0”, Displacement 17 400 lbs., Ballast 6 700 lbs.
  • During 2006/7 she had a major rebuild. Internal work completed: totally new plumbing and wiring, reconditioned engine, new water tank, new navigation system (Raymarine C series inc. radar), Autohelm autopilot, new heads, a washing machine, new berths, total redecoration. Externally her rig was changed from the Freedom to the simpler and better Nonsuch system, a new Noble Masts Oregon pine mizzen mast fitted, new sails, liferaft, all lines, anchors and decking plus top to bottom newly painted. By the time she sailed from UK in 2008 she had been totally reborn and brought up to date with the latest equipment.
