Hinterhoeller Niagara 35 description

  • I bought this boat intending her to be my forever boat, to be cruised down in Mexico and later across the Pacific. I wanted a fully self: sufficient vessel, and this boat was well on her way. About a year after I got her, I met my now husband who also has a boat! His is slightly larger so we’ve decided to consolidate onto his. Why tell you this? Because this is the only reason I’m parting with her. I’ve lovingly worked on her as though she’d be mine to cross oceans on forever. Everything I’ve done has made her better.

Hinterhoeller Niagara 35 equipment

  • New solar panel (LG 265W), solar charge controller (Phocos CIS-MPPT: 85/20). This thing actually a residential panel (!), but I had the mount to support its size. It EASILY runs the boat in summer. Installed Summer 2014
  • New Ancor DC panel : Fall 2015 (when I put this in, I did a ton of wiring cleanup. Everything is labeled and organized (very unlikely on any other boats!)
  • Re: worked and diagrammed all wiring between engine and house and start batteries
  • Air Marine Wind generator (not hooked up) Note: when I bought the boat the previous owner reporting the wind gen “not working”. After working on the boat for a while, I came to learn that he was TERRIBLE at all things electrical. Like mixing up positive and negative! I’m pretty sure this means the wind gen is just fine. I just haven’t played with it myself yet because the solar panel puts out so much juice.
