• KEEL: 6500lb (2950kg) OF LEAD. IS THRUBOLTED WITH 11 BOLTS OF 1” – 316 L SS. ACCORDING TO ONE OF LLOYDS RULES, BOLTS CAN BE RETRACTED FOR INSPECTION. THEY PASS THROUGH 316 L SS TUBES FIXED IN THE HULL TO AID DISTRIBUTION OF FORCES IN THIS AREA. THERE IS AN ADITIONAL REENFORCEMENT ALONG THE HULL IN ORDER TO SUPPORT HIGH IMPACT ON THE KEEL.
• Hull: 6 LAYERS OF BRASILIAN MAHOGANY VENEERS (1/8) EPOXY SATURATED AND PLACED DIAGONALLY OVER CEDAR STRIPS (7/16 – 5/8) RUNING LONGITUDINALLY FORE AND AFT. THICKNESS IS 1”3/16 (30MM) ABOVE AND 1”7/8 (35MM) BELOW WATERLINE. THIS CONSTRUCTION RESULTS IN A STRONGER AND MORE RIGID HULL IN COMPARISON TO THE SAME WEIGHT IN FIBERGLASS, WITH PROVEN PROLONGED DURABILITY AND NO SPECIAL MAINTENANCE REQUIRED.

Hull scraped and sanded (down to gel coat) all repairs made, faired, new barrier paint (4 gallon Inter Protect 2000E - 3 coats ) Petit Bottom prep, VC 17 Offshore (3 gallon 6 coats) very fast ! • The 27 has a swept: back fin keel typical of many 1970s designs. The configuration makes for less than perfect windward performance, but offers good reaching in return. A strong and elaborate winter storage cradle is required, as the keel cannot support the hull weight. With a spade rudder fixed at the aft end of the waterline, the 27's light helm responds quickly.

• : top which gives her a very distinctive feature. The 27 T2 displaces only 5400 pounds but is very quick and well built. The only critique with this 27 was the lack of headroom (Practical Sailor Dec 1995). The keel is bone dry and the cabin include Wine glass holder, CB radio, all necessary marine equipment, including five type II life jackets, and an additional 310sqft main sail. Two stroke engine and maintenance is conducted regularly. This boat is simply looking for a good home and a owner for the upcoming season. Owners feel that the boat stands up well to windy conditions, stating that they feel safe in the boat because she is stable and remains under control when the usual precautions have been taken. (Practical Sailor Magazine, June 1, 1995.) We love to sail and recently upgraded to a 34 footer simply because of additional stowing for our diving equipment. Our asking price is $6,000 but open minded to negotiations.
