Hunter 49'

  • Beam: 14.9
  • Draft: 5.6
  • Description: Here is my 1978 Seafarer 23' Sailboat for sale. It has about a 3.5' draft shoal keel. Injury/surgery forces sale unfortunately. Interior needs to be put back in and built out. Some of the pulleys in the fittings need to be replaced and some rope. Water tight, pulled her out of the water 6 months ago. Special sailboat trailer included with longer extendable tongue to drop her in the water deeper from your vehicle. Sails included, all rigging parts are there. Inside the boat is teak parts to cabinets and other boat parts and stuff that I accumulated for my sailboat experience but it will need some woodwork in side. Included also is a dinghy that needs a little glue on some seams, a 2hp outboard for dinghy, Epirb registered to the boat, bumpers, ropes etc. I cannot finish the boat, at all. Please come get it. She's a good boat that needs a good owner to take her around the world. Trailer pulls good, had her up to 65 behind my Trailblazer without a problem.
  • Equipment: Both original sails. Mast & boom. Rigging. Trailer. Many ropes and other interior parts, bumpers.

  • Ron Rawson built some of the U.S. West Coast’s finest workboats—tough and able gillnetters, long: liners, and others that ply the waters between California and the Gulf of Alaska. When he decided to build sailboats, he wanted to continue the firm’s reputation for building seaworthy small craft and commissioned Pacific Northwest naval architect William Garden to design the Rawson 30. Between 1959 and 1985, he built 288 Rawson 30s, of which 36 were pilothouse models.
  • Bluff-bowed and rugged, with a long keel encapsulating 5,000 pounds of boiler punchings and concrete, the Rawson 30 was intended strictly for cruising. The hull is hand: laid solid fiberglass, while the deck is of fiberglass and balsa sandwich construction. Its bulwarks, 6 inches high at the bow, are fit for wedging in seaboots whether you’re hauling in salmon or changing headsails when thrashing to windward, and its cockpit is small, as befits a bluewater boat, while still adequate for two. Hardware is robust and simple.
