- Description: Pearson 424 - a Bill Shaw design. Topaz is a ketch rigged built in 1981. The Pearson is a world solid cruiser. She was designed specifically for a couple who would be cruising down the ICW or take a world cruise. She has a modified fin keel 5’3” and a short rig 48’10”. Great to take to the Bahamas as well. She has the traditional interior. V-berth forward, starboard and port settee with a solid teak table centerline. Galley is to port, full head with separate fiberglass shower with tub design for washing clothes. Mid ship companionway making boarding with groceries easy into the galley. - 1977 Catalina 22' Sailboat with well: maintained Evinrude 7.5 hp outboard. Starts on first or second pull every time. The Swing Keel drafts 5 feet of water when down / 2 feet of water when up. Allowing you to motor or sail into low tide and shallow areas. Equipped with a "PopTop" for standing room in the saloon. A full V berth for overnights. - Forward of the galley is a dining table and U: shaped setee upholstered in Ultra Suede that seats eight for dinner or can entertain 11 people for poker. Opposite the table is another pullman sofa starboard. These 3 sofas have stowable lee cloths and can be quickly converted into beds for extra crew.
- During 2006/7 she had a major rebuild. Internal work completed: totally new plumbing and wiring, reconditioned engine, new water tank, new navigation system (Raymarine C series inc. radar), Autohelm autopilot, new heads, a washing machine, new berths, total redecoration. Externally her rig was changed from the Freedom to the simpler and better Nonsuch system, a new Noble Masts Oregon pine mizzen mast fitted, new sails, liferaft, all lines, anchors and decking plus top to bottom newly painted. By the time she sailed from UK in 2008 she had been totally reborn and brought up to date with the latest equipment.
