- Sleeping accommodations for six are provided in the V: berth, port and starboard settees and aft quarter berth. From the cockpit into the cabin you find the chart table located to starboard with the galley just opposite. Aft and to port is the large open quarter berth. The open cabin layout in the 31 Pacific Seacraft is very similar to the famous Dana model except that it is larger. The unique and thoughtful galley table slides neatly beneath the forward berth when not in use leaving an open and inviting area for lounging and socializing. The roomy and efficient enclosed head is aft to starboard and positioned for passage making. The hinge
- This particular vessel has had two caring owners to date and shows well for it. The recent engine re: power (2011), electronics upgrades and rig upgrades are examples of the care and renewal this vessel has received. The new owner may appreciate a unique quality feature such as the three way hydraulics that control the boomvang, backstay and babystay. The attractive teak decks provide great traction, have received good maintenance and show well. There is an inventory of sails and enough gear to get you sailing today, this is a turnkey vessel that is ready to make you smile.
- Ron Rawson built some of the U.S. West Coast’s finest workboats—tough and able gillnetters, long: liners, and others that ply the waters between California and the Gulf of Alaska. When he decided to build sailboats, he wanted to continue the firm’s reputation for building seaworthy small craft and commissioned Pacific Northwest naval architect William Garden to design the Rawson 30. Between 1959 and 1985, he built 288 Rawson 30s, of which 36 were pilothouse models.
- Bluff-bowed and rugged, with a long keel encapsulating 5,000 pounds of boiler punchings and concrete, the Rawson 30 was intended strictly for cruising. The hull is hand: laid solid fiberglass, while the deck is of fiberglass and balsa sandwich construction. Its bulwarks, 6 inches high at the bow, are fit for wedging in seaboots whether you’re hauling in salmon or changing headsails when thrashing to windward, and its cockpit is small, as befits a bluewater boat, while still adequate for two. Hardware is robust and simple.
