Montgomery 17 description- During 2006/7 she had a major rebuild. Internal work completed: totally new plumbing and wiring, reconditioned engine, new water tank, new navigation system (Raymarine C series inc. radar), Autohelm autopilot, new heads, a washing machine, new berths, total redecoration. Externally her rig was changed from the Freedom to the simpler and better Nonsuch system, a new Noble Masts Oregon pine mizzen mast fitted, new sails, liferaft, all lines, anchors and decking plus top to bottom newly painted. By the time she sailed from UK in 2008 she had been totally reborn and brought up to date with the latest equipment.

- “Melrose” is the Plan B model, with a comfortable headroom of 6'4". The main salon has a U: shaped settee with beautiful teak table and a bench settee opposite. The galley is to port with a double SS Sink and an insulated top load icebox with 12 volt Grunert unit. The navigation station is across with ample storage and comfort. There is a large quarter berth starboard. The interior boasts beautiful Costa Rican teak and the sole is teak and holly. Forward is the master stateroom with overhead hatch and bronze opening ports, and plenty of storage in shelves and cabinets also under the berth. There is a separate shower stall in the enclosed head to starboard.
