  • Designed by Bob Perry based on a concept by Bob Berg, Toucan is a canoe stern, traditional design cruising yacht. Check out the link "History of the Panda 40" bluewaterboats.org/baba: 40 for some interesting facts about the development of this venerable yacht design. With its 34 foot waterline length, Toucan's theoretical maximum hull speed is an impressive 7.8 knots making her quite fast for a moderate to heavy displacement ocean going vessel. She easily cruises faster than 7 knots on a reach and sails 150 to 175 miles per day with just one or two crew. The Baba, Panda, Tashiba, Tayana, Mason and Nordhaven lines of quality Ta Shing manufactured yachts are well known for their sturdy construction, beautiful detail, comfortable ride and superb handling. Toucan’s hull is graceful and efficient while the living spaces below boast high quality teak joinery. Toucan has been meticulously maintained since her creation in 1985. She will take you to your destination safely, speedily and in great style.
  • This is a great daysailer or trailersailer. She draws under 2' with the 600lb swing keel in the up position, and kick: up rudder in up position. She points surprisingly well with the keel down. She has lived in freshwater for all of her days. She comes with a Dilly trailer, and is one of the most easily trailered swing keel boats, because the keel comes all the way into the hull. She is rigged as a fractional sloop. The mast is deck stepped with top and intermediate shrouds, headstay and backstay. She comes ready to sail with a main and genoa, running rigging, all in good condition.
