  • This sailboat was built by Morgan Yachts for the 1989 Dallas Summer Boat Show and has boat show quality with plus: plus details. I am the original owner. The engine, sails, and interior has been kept in perfect condition. Two new batteries, and new genoa sail cover have just been added. Main sail cover is two years old. Sails are crisp. The battery charger is a Newmar and only three years old. Propane stove is like new. New Head Feb. 2016. Shower in head area. Bottom job, new lights on mast, and mast step now steel reinforced in July 2013. Has depth and knot meter. Bimini with new straps. USCG Documented. Ready to sail! Dock fee paid till May 1. Must see to appreciate!
  • This boat is ready to return to the Bahamas where I've spent several winters on her. Includes a Honda 2000 generator. She is a 2 stateroom layout with forward cabin having a large v: berth and lots of drawers, a hanging locker, storage shelves and overhead hatch with screen. The head is aft to starboard with double doors to access from the salon or forward cabin. There is hot and cold water shower, vanity, basin and marine toilet. The salon has port and starboard settees with double leaf bulkhead mounted table with a wine cabinet and glass storage behind. Lots of storage behind and under settees. The galley is aft to port with a 2 burner gas stove and oven and a double stainless steel sink and large refrigerator. Six drawers and ample storage for dishes. To starboard there is aft cabin with bunk and nav station with storage underneath. The aft cabin closes off for privacy.

  • : knot collision with a container which never occurred. After her circumnavigation, she was donated to the Naval Academy in 1986. In 1991, with three officers and nine midshipmen on board, she struck a coal barge in the Chesapeake and sank; the barge was not damaged. The aluminum racer Yankee Girl fell victim to errant navigation and washed ashore on a rocky Block Island beach in 1976, coming to rest in a foot and a half of water but drawing nine feet. She lay on her side for several months, dragged back and forth across the rocks. When salvaged, her topsides were dramatically deflected and distorted but her hull was never breached and she did not leak. It is the ductility of aluminum which enables it to absorb energy by distorting without breaking. In pointing out that aluminum, for the same weight, is stronger than steel, Dave Gerr, in The Elements of Boat Strength, also states that aluminum, being more ductile than steel is therefore also better able to absorb energy.
