Bristol 35

  • Beam: 10
  • Draft: 3.7
  • Description: Most boats in the early 70’s were very light on std. equipment. Over the years I replaced the external running rigging with internal halyards, added spinnaker gear and winches for around the buoys racing at the yacht club, added electric windlass, and microwave and replaced the Formica counter tops with a tile surface. In 2015 she got a complete Awlgrip job, both topsides and decks, ALL NEW bronze thru-hull fittings, a NEW mainsail rigged for club racing and reefing, and all new sail covers including the roller furling. I have several hank-on jibs (#2 & #3) that I stopped using after installing the roller reefing in 2002, but they will go with the boat. The Volvo MD 2B was completely rebuilt for $2,100, using the same crank, in 2005, and runs like new. I exchanged the 2 small car-style 12 volt batteries with 2 large Gel 8D West Marine batteries for more Elec power. I recently added a flat screen color TV, and replaced the toilet in the head with a new one in 2016. The hot water heater was replaced in 2016 with a Stainless heater, and there is a 3 burner gimbaled stove and inverter 1,000watt
