Chance 29 description- 1994 Intermountain Boat Works #14624. Excellent condition. 2 sets of sails. Steel centerboard. This boat is very stable: ideal for family fun. - KEEL: 6500lb (2950kg) OF LEAD. IS THRUBOLTED WITH 11 BOLTS OF 1” – 316 L SS. ACCORDING TO ONE OF LLOYDS RULES, BOLTS CAN BE RETRACTED FOR INSPECTION. THEY PASS THROUGH 316 L SS TUBES FIXED IN THE HULL TO AID DISTRIBUTION OF FORCES IN THIS AREA. THERE IS AN ADITIONAL REENFORCEMENT ALONG THE HULL IN ORDER TO SUPPORT HIGH IMPACT ON THE KEEL.

THICKNESS IS 1”3/16 (30MM) ABOVE AND 1”7/8 (35MM) BELOW WATERLINE. THIS CONSTRUCTION RESULTS IN A STRONGER AND MORE RIGID HULL IN COMPARISON TO THE SAME WEIGHT IN FIBERGLASS, WITH PROVEN PROLONGED DURABILITY AND NO SPECIAL MAINTENANCE REQUIRED.

- Description: Chance 29 sloop (32'11" LOA; 28'11" LWL; 9'4" beam; 6'6" draft; 13,600 Disp) designed by Britton Chance Jr. and built in 1972 by famed DeDood yard in Bremen, Germany for International One Ton Cup competition. "...nothing short of an exquisite [building] job" (SAIL mag July 1972). "Boat of the Year" in Chicago 1972. In storage (inside) for last 14 years. Fiberglass with glistening original gelcoat. Beautifully finished koto wood six-bunk interior. 35HP Volvo MD3B diesel. Great racer/cruiser at bargain price.
